UTP Statistics Software

Within the UTP software framework the UTP Statistics software offers a flexible and economic solution for statistical evaluation of database-driven measurement systems. The software is particularly suitable for statistic process control including permanent monitoring of all test results.

The system allows access to measurement data stored in databases with relation to machines or products. These data can be presented in a sorted, time-bases manner. The time interval to show can be configured. Therefore, monitoring of measurement data and its changes can be executed easily.

In order to present test results more efficient and structured, it is possible to summarize similar modules or products as a product group and to assign typical limiting values to each group. Testing specifications for all products include configurable upper and lower limiting values; measurement values are presented per machine with reference to these limits.

Because the illustration and the monitoring of the measurement data is done separately for each tester system, it is easy for any experienced engineer do decide if one of several identical testers is faulty or if the devices under test do not meet their specifications.

Series of measurement can either be visualized and evaluated for all tester systems executing the same task or be presented for a single machine. The period of time for which the testing results are displayed can be chosen as well.

In order to guarantee immediate availability of data for fault analysis by means of statistic process control, the UTP software solution can be flexibly adjusted to different testing scenarios.

Measurement data is presented as a histogram. Additionally, it is possible to calculate process capability indexes Cp and CpK, in order to describe and evaluate the quality of the process in a more detailed way. Furthermore, the software comprises yield indication which can be displayed with relation to time or machines.

The basic version of the software consists of three main visualization components. Nevertheless, it shows a high degree of flexibility and can be extended individually. The three main tools for visualization are:

  • 1. Single product view including detailed measurement data/information
  • 2. Distribution of measurement data visualized as a histogram
  • 3. General yield overview for all machines

The functionality of this basic version allows fast and simple evaluation of testing results and can be extended according to the customer’s requirements.

The UTP Statistics Software is a modular solution, which can be connected to various types of databases. It is possible to connect to an existing customized database or establish a new database provided and configured by NOFFZ.
